Forensic Risk Alliance welcomes Joinder as its first FRA Pulse portfolio company

FRA announces that Joinder, a legal tech collaboration platform for corporate legal departments and law firms, is the first company to join its FRA Pulse technology think tank.

10 November 2020, LONDON: Forensic Risk Alliance (FRA), a leading forensic accounting, data governance, technology solutions and forensics consulting firm, today announces that Joinder, a legal tech collaboration platform for corporate legal departments and law firms, is the first company to join its FRA Pulse technology think tank.

Launched last month, FRA Pulse is open to emerging technology businesses with products spanning AI and robotics automation, to advanced analytics. Joinder’s successful submission to the programme was based on its innovative approach to the legal workplace. As an innovative new collaboration tool, incubated in Orrick labs, Joinder combines four key elements that are critical for legal work: storage, task management, communications and document management

Joinder’s ambition is to become the centre of a company’s legal operations.  One of the biggest advantages of the platform is that it brings the company work product into the company’s boundary – so that it has access and control over that work and can derive value from it through use of data analytics and knowledge management to achieve better organization, transparency and efficiency. It enables seamless document sharing and editing, and provides secure workrooms that are designed to promote collaboration, including a shared calendar that provides on-demand access to deadlines and status updates for all deals and cases on the user’s schedule. Joinder also uses machine learning, developed from thousands of engagements for Orrick clients, to automate functions like organising a company’s records and files.  Joinder use cases include litigation matters, organization of global compliance, transactions of all kinds, board management, remote depositions, law firm onboarding, risk management, team and project coordination and many others.

As a member of Pulse, Joinder will have access to hands-on mentorship; the opportunity to co-develop with FRA and other Pulse companies; access to the latest data, tools, and partner resources; and go-to market support and guidance to help get their product to clients faster.

Don Keller, Co-Founder and CEO of Joinder, will sit on the FRA Pulse Advisory Board together with Frances McLeod, FRA Founding Partner & Co-Head of Data Governance, Technology Solutions & Forensics and IT; Greg Mason, FRA Founding Partner and Co-Head of Data Analytics; Harsh Sutaria, Chief Innovation Officer; and other industry experts. Harsh Sutaria, in turn, will serve on the Board of Advisors of Joinder.

Frances McLeod, Founding Partner and Co-Head of Data Governance Technology Solutions & Forensics, FRA, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Joinder to FRA Pulse and look forward to working with them to disrupt the legal tech industry. We were hugely impressed by their technology-driven solutions to the issues many of our clients are facing, and the passion and energy of the team. Together we can empower corporates and law firms with game-changing product innovation.

Don Keller, Co-Founder and CEO of Joinder and a former Orrick partner who headed the global law firm’s Tech Sector and Corporate Practices, commented: “Being part of FRA Pulse is a significant step for Joinder and offers huge benefits. It will give us invaluable access to resources and opportunities we wouldn’t necessarily have as we take our product to market. With FRA’s expertise, this is the perfect partnership to deliver transformational, technological change to the legal world.”

Harsh Sutaria, Chief Innovation Officer, FRA, commented: “Joinder is among the most disruptive new technologies to hit the legal market, and we see huge potential for how it can modernize legal collaboration, and help law firms and in-house legal teams reduce spend, improve quality, replace fragmented solutions and provide access and control over work product. I’m delighted to have Joinder within the Pulse portfolio, and to sit on its Board of Advisors, and excited to see how we can, together, further develop Joinder’s capabilities.”
